Liz's Prayers

November 2025

Dear Jesus, we love you.  Help us to give thanks with a grateful heart.

When the chaotic noise invades all our senses, we will

give thanks because we can still hear your quiet voice telling our souls to be still.

We look for your glowing spirit through the deep, dark, murky gloom of anything that says we can’t make it.  At this time, let us feel you.  In our despair, let us hear you.

While we are on the battlefield, fight with us.  We are conquerors because you lead us on the way.  We give thanks to you because of who you are.

Thank you, Lord.  It is in your name that we pray.

Amen.

September 2025

Heavenly Father, what a majestic, loving God you are.  We thank you for your presence in our lives.

Thank you for the winding down of summer and all the goodness that has been realized and all the troubles we have overcome.  If you go with us, we can look forward to the approaching Fall and all that the season promises.

We ask, Lord, that you will help us walk together with you.  We pray you will keep us from growing weary of doing your will.

For all those entering a new school year, we pray that you prepare their minds to receive knowledge that creates a better world.  May the Holy Spirit walk with them, comfort and keep them daily.

Lord, be the fence around them.  We need your Lord.  We love and trust you, Lord.

It is in your name that we pray.  Amen.

July 2025

Dear Jesus, the greatest truth that we know and cling to is your love for us.

Thank you for giving us hearts that can love, nurture, encourage, and strengthen, and keep one another.

Because you went to the cross and rose from the dead, we have new, boundless opportunities to better this world and grow more like you each day.

It is in your name that we pray.

Amen

May 2025

Dear Jesus, we love you. We have hope because you are our hope. We have faith because you faithfully love us.

Teach us, Lord, to be loving families.

As our children grow, please keep them close.  Let them feel your loving spirit.  Reach out and touch them.  Show parents how to honorably teach children to honor you, themselves, and others.

Help families to follow you, keep all eyes on you, and walk safely through this sinful world. Teach us how to model honor so that our children will want to be honorable.

You love us, not so much because we are faithful, good, always loving, obedient every step of the way, or because we always remember to stop the devil in his tracks.

Savior, it is because you are honorable, forgiving, patient, kind, our teacher, and protector.

Thank you for touching our souls. We love you. It is in your name that we pray. Amen.

October 2025

Heavenly Father, in our past, present, and future, we need you.  In days like these, we need a word from you.

We need to renew, refresh, and reinvest in your call.  We need you to come by our homes, our churches, our cities, our businesses, our country, our world.

Come by here, Lord and allow the Holy Spirit to touch hearts that seem to be unreachable by goodness and decency.  Wake us up to your ways, Lord.

We need God inspired hope; only you can breathe.  We will continue to believe in the bright tomorrow that seems to be out of our reach.

Help our wavering hearts.  Give us grace, mercy, and peace this day and forevermore.

It is in the name of Jesus that we pray.  Amen.

August 2025

Dear Jesus, friend, and savior, we come today giving thanks.

Hear our prayer, Lord.  We need you every hour of every day.  We need your tender care.  We need your peace. We need your blessing.

We need you to teach us your will and your way.  We need to serve and love one another.  We need your spirit to lift us up and give us the desire to reach out to others.

Because of who you are, Lord we need to adore, praise, glorify, thank, and adore you.  We need you every hour Lord!

It is in your matchless name that we pray.  Amen.

June 2025

Dear Jesus, we humbly lift our voices to you in praise for all that you are doing in our lives.

Our world has forgotten your message of love, tolerance, and goodness. Have mercy on us, Lord, as we make our way through the upheaval that the wicked continue to create.

Give us courage, as we must find the strength to stand tall and speak out against the things that pull us away from the children you would have us be.  We need to hear from you, Lord.

We need you to empower our voices.  We ask that you ignite a fire in our souls so that we may boldly show the world that you are still in charge.

We still have hope in the promise that you will never leave or forsake us.  We love, honor, and adore you.

It is in the matchless name of Jesus that we pray.  Amen.

April 2025

Let’s pray together!

Coming before you, holding fast to your promise that we can come to you with a clean heart and pray. These days, we need a word from you. How can we come before you with words that could convey all that we feel? How do we humble ourselves enough so that you will want to hear from us? With so much going on in the world that may be new to us but is age-old to you, where do we stand?

Wherever this world might be heading, we thank you for being there, your patience, and all that you have been, are, and will be. Thank you, God!!

Storms are brewing on every hand, and debris keeps trying to sweep us up in the tempest. We keep trying to stand firm in the waves and hold on to our faith in all you promise.

So many who lead are being blown and tossed in ways that would drown your creation. However, you stand and steady the ground while inviting us to come into the protection of your loving embrace.

At this moment, we ask that you continue to be with us, increase our faith, please be patient with us, and love us unconditionally.

Give us wisdom, so that others will hear your word coming from our lips. Grant us a loving and forgiving spirit, so that as you forgive us, we will forgive others.

Let your light shine through us out into this troubled world. God, who is in heaven, please quiet and protect us from the storms.

It is in your matchless name that we pray, Amen.

February 2025

What a mighty God we serve! We stretch out our hands to you as humbly as we know how, asking you to place us on a path that leads to your righteousness, your justice, your peace, and your love.

People are worried, anxious, and saddened.  Please allow the Holy Spirit to comfort.  Leaders have turned away from all that is good and right.

Help us to be courageous in our quest to reorder this upside-down world.  We need you to shine brightly in dark places.

With your help we will shine also.  Keeping hope and sharing love we lift this prayer in the name of Jesus.  Amen.
