Matthew 4:8-16 (NIV)

8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.”[d] While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.  9 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?”  “I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”  10 The Lord said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground. 11 Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. 12 When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.”  13 Cain said to the Lord, “My punishment is more than I can bear. 14 Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.”  15 But the Lord said to him, “Not so; anyone who kills Cain will suffer vengeance seven times over.” Then the Lord put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him. 16 So Cain went out from the Lord’s presence and lived in the land of Nod,] east of Eden.

Liz's Lesson Learned:
Inheritance Pt. 2

During Mother’s and Father’s Day, I can’t help but think about my parents. Lately, I’ve been thinking about what they left me, but looking at my inheritance differently.  Being a minister, my mind immediately goes to scripture about the meek inheriting the earth (Matthew 5:5).  But how does this apply to me?  Continue reading!

This Month's Prayer
June 11, 2025

Let’s Pray together!

We humbly lift our voices to you in praise for all that you are doing in our lives.  Our world has forgotten your message of love, tolerance, and goodness. Have mercy on us, Lord, as we make our way through the upheaval that the wicked continue to create.  Give us courage, as we must find the strength to stand tall and speak out against the things that pull us away from the children you would have us be.  We need to hear from you, Lord.  We need you to empower our voices.  We ask that you ignite a fire in our souls so that we may boldly show the world that you are still in charge.  We still have hope in the promise that you will never leave or forsake us.  We love, honor, and adore you.  It is in the matchless name of Jesus that we pray.  Amen.
