Let’s Pray together!

Heavenly Father, we come to you with humble hearts and minds. We know that you promised to be with us. And we believe it. We know that your call is for us to be strong and courageous. But so many times, these days, we seem to be hindered by the evils of this world. But we still want to be everything you want us to be. So, Lord, please walk with us, and we will be strong. Guide us, and we will be courageous. Lord, if you are with us, we will win this Christian race. We love and adore you. We trust in your word. We give you all the praise and glory. It is in your name that we pray. Amen

Once again, we find ourselves in the midst of Lent, the forty days leading up to Easter. Lent is a period of reflection. Christians are fasting and praying. We see this as a time to give up something or give back something. Each year, Christians find new and innovative ways to observe Lent. And some Christians observe the traditional fast for the 40 days, having only water or juice as sustenance.

Liz's Lesson Learned: To Know

If I knew then what I know now, I would have treasured times gone by. I, like most folk, took so many things for granted. For example, by my birthday (November 27th), the weather would be cool enough for a jacket or coat. (I looked up the weather for my early childhood years, and it confirmed my memories.)
